Some pics of some teams..

These are all destined for eBay...

First up, box set, plastic Orcs...

Next, box set, plastic Humans (with an Ogre)...

Next is a team I've had primed for about 6 years... 16 of the "Imps" and two Treemen.  Painted as a Halfling team.

The were dipped last night, so I should be able to base them and get them ready for sale weekend.
They're on the old 15mm bases that the Imps used to come with, for extra "i feel tiny" feeling.

Painted!

These three pics are post paint, pre-dip.

The next two are post dip, but still wet with stain.

And last two, with black bases - have been sitting for about 12 hours drying.

Tomorrow, they get their final game of the season in...

"When the Ogres' broke free..."*

(*with apologies to Pink Floyd)

Was dipping the human team when the glue holding the ogre to it's base popped out, and the ogre went skidding across the lawn into the brush...

...and done!

Got the grass on the last of the guys last night (sorry, no pics - the phone was in the other room).

Packed up the army, the dice, the tape measure, the templates, and books and set them by the door last night.  I've got my comic book army list printed and stapled this morning.

I think I'm good to go.

Here's a few pages of the comic:

Done! (now, it's just to the basing)

Finished.

Painting.

Imperial Ork Allies.

.
Heavy Bolter team.

Plasma Guns

Misc Vet's

Kommissar!

Tonight, I'm planning on setting everything out and start to work on the basing of the whole Descent of Orks list.  I'm borrowing the two Vendetta's from a friend for the tournament next week - with work and us moving there was no way in 9 levels of Hel that they were going to be painted (or even built for that matter).

Ghetto painting setup

So, I'm spending the weekend at my in-laws... but I have things I have to finish.  Enter, the ghetto painting table.

They call me mellow yellow...

Below is a series of pictures as I was getting the first layer of paint down on the Tyrandis.  I'm not going to make it for the escalation league - so... yeah.

First - Harmagaunts, rippers and objective markers primed in white.

Next, All the termigants in yellow.

I trapped a few flies in the wet paint - here's a close up.  :)

And, finally - the rest of the bugs in yellow.

Blood Bowl Finals...

4 players, single elimination.  This is me vs. Skaven.  Were it a league game, he would have been hurting for his next game - but alas and alak, it was was a resurrection style.  So, even though I beat the tar out of him, he did end up pulling a 2-0 victory (and, I do count my lucky stars that I kept him to just two scores).

There was no quarter offered, and I didn't make any obvious mistakes...  there's just something about a gutter runner with mv 10 and sprint..  :)

On the painting side of things - it was a reasonably nice weekend, and I was able to get all the bigger bugs primed.  Tomorrow, if the weather holds I'm going to try and get the hormagaunts and gargoyles primed.  This whole "not having a garage to spray in" is getting kinda old.  :)

Color Test... I think that's a "Fail"

First picture is the test termagant, sprayed in a cream base coat, on the left side I used "Electric Blue" and on the right "Magic Blue".  I wasn't worried too much about coverage or cleanlyness.  I wanted to see how the new primer/base coat took the dip, what the dip would do to the model, and what would interact with the blue.

Second picture is about 2 hours after the dip in the "Mustard" wood stain.

Not quite sure if it comes through in the pictures - but the new basecoat/primer... sucks.  The stain doesn't flow the same - could be the temperature outside, could be the moisture in the air, could be that the can of spray paint primer and base coat doesn't do what normal primer and paint does.

I'm kinda liking the yellow spots on the blue armor plates.  It wasn't expected, but it does look kinda cool.  I will probably do some thinning of the varnish before the next test.  This time round, I think I'll stick with the paint choices I'm used to using...

Meanwhile, this termagaunt's going back in the vat for some cleaning.

First paint of the new year.

Adding a Warrior of Nurgle to the BB team I sold last year.

Random pictures from this weekend...

Got two games in this weekend with my Descent of Orks list.

Game 1 on Sunday - Vs. Dave's Dante led Sanguinary Guard army.  We played The Relic.  The game ended on Turn 6 with his Storm Raven chasing and killing my assault squad with a Sang. Priest and Astorath joined to it.

Turn 1 of Game 2.  IG with SW allies.  This was a Purge the Alien.  It ended with one of his Vendettas (of the two he had) running away from a full assault squad.  (9 to 5 point win).

I then went home and was able to put close to the final touches on the Khemri team.  Spray sealed (pictured below), and then flocked them.  So, that just leaves the numbering to do and they're done.

Basing 2/3rds done...

Need to do the white bits for numbers, spray seal, and flock.

Khemri - Post-dip pictures

Got them dipped and inside about 3 seconds before the rainstorm started...  :)

They should be dry enough to do some touch-up and base work tomorrow night.  If I needed to, I could work with them tonight, but I'm willing to wait the day.

I'm using water-based stain, mostly for the easy of cleanup and the viscosity - the oil based stuff has to be thinned with mineral spirits or such to be workable - otherwise it's *WAAAY* too thick.

Have I mentioned lately that I love my wife...? No? Well, I do.

This weekend my lovely wife not only did the normal wife/mom stuff - she also painted my new BloodBowl team.  :)

These were usually painted late in the evening, after the kids were asleep.

Here's a little time-lapse set of photos.  One taken after each "painting session".  I was hoping to get them dipped today, but kids and work had other plans for me (that, and I can't seem to find the latex gloves...).

The Tomb Guardians - half done.

Tomb Guardians, done.

Most of the "skeletons" done (along with some of the counters)

All but the Blitz-Ras and Throw-Ras

Halfway through the Blitz-Ras and Throw-Ras.

All setup and ready for the dipping sauce.

I'll get some pictures up after they're dunked (so, probably tomorrow night).
