I've got to get my numbers up...

...the wife is kicking my ass.

One done Beast of Nurgle for "Smells Like Team Spirit"

Chaos Warrior doubling as a Nurgle Warrior.

Pestigor.

Ghoul doubling as my Rotters.

And finally, the whole team.  Signed, sealed and well, not delivered - cause they're mine for this year's Blood Bowl Championship Series at Kublacon.

Random collection of things...

First up a definition, thanks to a good friend of mine:Plan: (n) 1) a list of things that never happens. That will make sense here in a minute.

Right, so it looks like the bigger-ized marine is going to be a Blood Raven. I should have some things up this upcoming week. The plan for this weekend was to have the wife and child at the in-laws this weekend. I was going to do a little bit of "work" on Saturday morning, then spend the rest of the day working on the marine and the Orks.

What actually happened - stomach flu for child, stomach flu for me, and stomach flue for wife. :)

I did get the Orks based on the Gale Force 9 magnetic 40mmx75mm pill bases. Here's some pictures:

Greenstuff molds - aHa!

What we have here is definitely an "aha!" moment. Saturday night I mixed up some greenstuff and started grabbing some bitz I didn't really care about to see how the molding was going to work. Baby powder on the bit, green stuff and let sit. Sunday night, I mixed in some baby powder with the greenstuff to make it do that "I don't stick to anything" thing, added a little to the mold and filled. what you see there is the result of both of those things.

Lessons learned:
  • flat surface for the bottom of the mold is very handy
  • small things are good
  • have to mix the GS *really* good
  • mix the baby powder in after the greenstuff is mixed
look for more pictures as I figure out what to do with this thing. Oh, and if you haven't voted on the chapter, please do.

Supersized Marine

Taking a small break from my worries.... I started digging through my bitz to figure out what I can add - there's advantages to having a bitz collection that goes back 15 years. :)

I figure I've got enough bitz to add all sorts of coolness to this guy - now I just need to figure out greenstuff molds. :)

Round Three - Fight.

Mold line on bolter, cleaned. Check.

Shoulder pad trim. Check.

One bad ass True-Scale Marine. Check.

Need some green stuff filler on the trim. Dry fit of a backpack it fits perfectly. Clean up, extra coolness and he should be done.

True Scale - part deux

To get from last picture to here I've done work on the arms:
- Assault Terminator arms, 3rd ed plastic hand, 4th ed bolter
- assault marine chain sword and empire swordsman for the "combat knife."

The head is a trimmed Chaos SM head slightly elongated to sit where I needed it to. The grenades are from both the Marine's and Imperial Guard (Krak and Frag, respectively)

I have to say, I'm having a blast just plodding along on this marine. No real "plan of attack", just working as I see fit on it. Since These pictures were taken, I've trimmed the filigree off the shoulder pad and run the trim around the bottom of the pad.

I'm going to work on the other arm here when I get a chance. :)

True Scale?

I need to do a little cleaning of the green-stuff. and add some details. It's a terminator legs, thigh pads cut off, green stuff to fill in the back of the legs and thighs. Power Armor torso that's been expanded with plastic card and filled with green stuff, and then a fine layer of greenstuff on the torso to fill it out.

Thoughts?
