Somehow I missed posting this..

The fully built (well, full team - I shared some of the extras with a friend) Ogre team from Impact! Miniature's Kickstarter.

When the sky stops spitting at me, I'll get these guys (along with the terminators) primed.

Kickstarter Ogres size comparison (and mini-review)

So, my Kickstarter Ogres arrived on Friday (ya!).  I've since had enough time to build exactly 1 of them.  But, here he is.  Smaller and weedier than the current line of Ogre Kingdoms, but about in line with the old GW Ogres (which, is what they were sold as).  The snotli...err "Imps" are *tiny*... here's a pic of all 20 of them, with a 25mm base for size comparison.

On to the quality.  They're definitely Trollcast resin - there's some funky left over bits and some air bubbles.  Not bad... about what I'd expect from this style of resin.  This one guy that I've built came in 4 parts.  The body, the head, and two arms.  His left arm had a weird placement for the injection point that took a little bit to clean up, and if you open up the full size picture, you can catch a few little bubbles still.

I'm trying something new with these guys, I'm building them onto little plasticard chunks, so that when the ballast goes down, it will look like he's walking on it, not buried in it (like the painted guys to each side of him are).

All and all, I like them.  I'm glad I got them, and I look forward to building them...

It's a common collection these days...

I broke my seal on Kickstarter with the Ogres from Impact.  Below is the shipping information for that package.

Some pics of some teams..

These are all destined for eBay...

First up, box set, plastic Orcs...

Next, box set, plastic Humans (with an Ogre)...

Next is a team I've had primed for about 6 years... 16 of the "Imps" and two Treemen.  Painted as a Halfling team.

The were dipped last night, so I should be able to base them and get them ready for sale weekend.
They're on the old 15mm bases that the Imps used to come with, for extra "i feel tiny" feeling.

Final (?) game of the season for the Amazon's

So, we were supposed to have the playoff this last weekend.  But, there was like 6" of snow on the ground, and several people freaked (not nearly as bad as they did in the South... but still).  So, there were three of us.. the #1 seed (Orks), the #2 seed (me), and the #9 seed (Humans)... who showed up to play.

The Human coach bowed out (as he had lost to both of us, and we hadn't played each other this season).

It was one of the best games I've had in a while.. :)  No one could hold on to the ball.  I used all but one of my re-rolls for the games on Go For It rolls...

Ended in a 1-1 Tie.

Final Amazon game of the season...

It was a doozy.

Tightest game of the series for me.  Played against a Chaos Dwarf team.  Here's a pic from turn 1.

The Death Roller is actually a Minotaur for this game...

We played in Sweltering Heat.  I kicked to him.  It took him 8 turns to grind down to a TD, we forgot the roll for heat, and then he kicked to me for my 8th.  During the drive I put on of the Bull Centaurs into the Casualty box (thanks to an Apothecary - no long term damage).  At the end of the half we rolled for the heat - he lost a Dwarf and the Minotaur - none of my team was affected.

Start of the second half - he kicked to me, I scored on turn 2.  Sweltering Heat rolls - he's down two Dwarfs, I'm down a blitzer and a line woman.  Kick-off result was a riot, so we advanced one turn marker.  He then takes the rest of the game to walk down the pitch... I make sure he can't make the End Zone on his turn 8.  It cost me a blitzer (no long term damage) to do it though.  Fair trade for the tie.

So, at the end of 8 games, I'm 5-0-3, have a full 16 players (and have for a while), only had two casualties against me that cost anything (one was a death, the other was a stat bust that I replaced when I have the money.

The finals / tournament is the first weekend in February - double elimination, non-resurrection.  This is going to be fun... assuming I don't have to play more Dwarf teams.

Game 6 and 7... Amazons.

Game 6 was a 1-1 tie vs Orcs.  Tight game, didn't earn anything in the SPP run of things.

Game 7 was a 4-1 win vs. Humans.  Did *lots* of leveling on this one.

Game 5, vs Elf

4-1 win... Played most of the second half with only 8 players on the pitch.

Start of Game 4 - vs Dwarf

Turned out to be a 1-1 tie... 5 of my girls into the casualty box. 1 dead blitzer.

Amazon's game 1, 2, and 3..

We've started our new season at the Friendly (not-so) Local Gaming Store.  We decided to start it at 1.1m, and 1 free FF for painted teams.
Game 1 vs. Dwarfs (Dwarves?).  4-0 win.  Only casualty received was a Miss Next Game for the Thrower "8-Ball".

Game 2 vs. Lizardmen.  4-1 win.  This picture was from his first - before my first turn.  How is that I have the ball halfway down the sideline you ask?  Well - you can see his line setup and the wedge formation be put the skinks in.  I picked up "Kick" for the line woman after first game, put it 4 squares in diagonally from the left side, and rolled a "Blitz" for the kick-off table.  I actually scored on my first turn.

Game 3 vs. Pro Elfs (Elves?).  4-2 win.  By the end of the game, I had 1 line woman in the casualty box... he had 6.  Only 3 scored me SPP... one was "Pebbles N. SlamBam" (appropriately enough) introducing the back of her boot to a catcher's head... honest ref, she tripped.

So, after the first three games, I'm sitting with 1,390,000gp value, 20k in the bank, 16 players on the roster (one will miss next game), 13 of the ladies have SPP; and both catchers, 1 blitzer, 1 thrower, and 1 line woman have advancements.

Now, I just need to paint them...

Amazon Team, Impact!

So, I broke down and spent $35 on Impact!'s Amazon team.  It showed up about 10 days later.

This what was in the package.  A bag of 16 resin models and 16 bases.

14 of the ladies are one piece models, only the one of the sets of blitzers needed to have their hands attached (not this one).

Here's a thrower - as you can see, it needs a little cleanup - but not too bad.

Below are some pictures after cleaning and putting on bases, and then a size comparison of a GW "official" bloodbowl model.

More pictures as they get painted will follow.  But, over all - I'd say the $35 team was a good deal.

"When the Ogres' broke free..."*

(*with apologies to Pink Floyd)

Was dipping the human team when the glue holding the ogre to it's base popped out, and the ogre went skidding across the lawn into the brush...

Blood Bowl Finals...

4 players, single elimination.  This is me vs. Skaven.  Were it a league game, he would have been hurting for his next game - but alas and alak, it was was a resurrection style.  So, even though I beat the tar out of him, he did end up pulling a 2-0 victory (and, I do count my lucky stars that I kept him to just two scores).

There was no quarter offered, and I didn't make any obvious mistakes...  there's just something about a gutter runner with mv 10 and sprint..  :)

On the painting side of things - it was a reasonably nice weekend, and I was able to get all the bigger bugs primed.  Tomorrow, if the weather holds I'm going to try and get the hormagaunts and gargoyles primed.  This whole "not having a garage to spray in" is getting kinda old.  :)

Game 8 - Khemri vs. Norse

Last game of the regular season.  It was a beat down of the Norse.  2-0 TD, Casualties were 5-0...

So, as it sits for the season, my Mahrek Mummies are 6-1-1, currently valued at 1.610m gp with a full 16... mummy... roster.  I will be giving up some inducements come tournament time.  :)

Game 6 and 7 - it was an Undead weekend

Game 6 was vs. a new Vampire Team.  ended in a 1-1 tie (Go For It on my eighth turn of the second half to score - anyone want to guess what I rolled?).  Casualties, however - I was up like 4-1.

Game 7 was vs. a experienced Necromantic team.  This was was a 3-1 win for the Khemri, with the casualty count being 7-3 (he regenerated 3, I regenerated 2.... no long term effects for ether of us though).

I was hoping to get a Game 8 in, but it was a quiet day down at the game store.

First paint of the new year.

Adding a Warrior of Nurgle to the BB team I sold last year.

Last two games of 2012

Got two more games of BloodBowl in today.

First up - Vs. My old Nurgle team (literally, he bought it from me after the last season).

It was a bit odd playing against my own paint job.  This one was a grinder.  It was a 0-1 loss for me, Casualties were 3-0 in my favor though.

Second game of the day was vs. a new player's Orc team.

He's using the Puppet's War Orc heads (they look gooooooood).  When his team is painted, it will look nice.  This one was a... what's the phrase... ass beating.  Yeah.  I put 2 guys in the Dead and Injured Box, 4 in the Knock Out, won 3-0, received 2 casualties (no long term effects) and walked away with 80k in winnings.
